Deep Clean. Work on deep cleaning your home, rent a steam cleaner, paint if needed, hire a housecleaning service, be sure to eliminate all traces of human habitation and pets.
Remove Personal Belongings, furniture, jewelry, photographs. The more impersonal the better. Also be sure to hide all prescription medication and place jewelry in a safe.
Focus On Specific Areas
Add an inexpensive plant and read up on Feng Shui tips or read one of my books which gives ideas for feng shuing your space.
Make sure it smells good, chocolate chip baked cookies.
Improve The Lighting. ... A little extra light goes a long way. Even an inexpensive lamp can create an ambience.
Paint your home in a Neutral Color.
